andy hart - Founder & advisor

Andy Hart has led a singularly dynamic career that has seen him spearhead digital transformation at blue-chip companies, solve complex business challenges on a global scale, become a trusted cryptocurrency investor, launch numerous award-winning businesses, and provide expert guidance to forward-thinking founders and executives.

His diverse expertise and holistic approach to personal and professional growth has led him to become a renowned business coach, energising courageous thought-leaders in the spheres of business, technology, media, wellness, and the arts while on their quest to pioneer groundbreaking ideas.

Andy spent four decades revolutionising the corporate world with his innovative approach to the digitisation of publishing and media. As CEO of renowned question answering–focused e-business, Ask Jeeves, he spearheaded the company’s expansion into Europe. In a profile highlighting e-visionaries by the renowned IT publication, Computer Weekly, Andy noted that the three major inhibitors to online trade were security, ease of trust, and brand trust. His drive towards digital humanisation would revolutionise the industry by making progress on all three.

When at Diageo, he built a broadcast network and video channels across countless bars and pubs in the UK. While sitting on the boards of Associated and Northcliffe, he transformed the national and regional titles at DMGT, seeing globally-renowned publication, the Independent, to describe him as an “online revolutionary”.

Here, he also founded MailOnline, the world’s largest English news site which was famed for turning classifieds into effective online marketplaces. While at DMGT, he was described by colleagues in a notable Campaign US profile as quick-witted, deeply analytical, and inspiring, “The chairman respects him a lot, and he's a guy who has been very refreshing for the business. He's learnt a lot on the hoof, but he's been brilliant,” said once Associated source.

During this time, he made 18 acquisitions, including Jobsite and Prime Location. Thereafter, he became the EMEA VP of Microsoft, Global Chief Revenue Officer at Leading Global, and  Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer at the diversified information, services, and media company, Hearst. He is currently a board director on the UK Advertising Association and Internet Advertising Bureaus in the UK and Europe, and was a founder/director of the AOP and Adweek Europe.

Despite spending much of his career in suits while leveraging his unique perspective and formidable negotiation skills in C-suite boardrooms, Andy’s approach is anything but traditional. He believes that the future of business needs to have heart woven into its seams if leaders expect to outpace rapidly-changing times.

In 2021, he combined his corporate prowess, technological expertise, and spiritual mentorship to establish Hartspace Consulting. Here, he advises ambitious start-up founders and corporate leaders, helping them scale mindfully and secure capital through a holistic strategy.

After leaving the corporate world, he dove deep into his spiritual studies, where he immersed himself in various tribes, learning their ancient cultures and traditional plant medicine. With his worldview transformed, he vowed to live a more spiritual, holistic lifestyle and is driven to imbue his career with these sacred teachings.

With a wealth of knowledge in Web 3.0 and blockchain technology, Andy became the founding director of the London Blockchain Foundation, and he is an investor in a variety of cryptocurrencies. He leverages this experience to bring unmatched digital insight to his clients, giving them a cutting-edge competitive advantage.

His trailblazing approach may seem unconventional to outsiders, but Andy’s innate agility and passion for game-changing ideas make Hartspace Consulting the ideal match for growth-focused founders without a business background who are looking to scale rapidly while remaining committed to personal growth.

A keen supporter of the arts and social causes, Andy is a founder/advisor and investor in SoFar Sounds, a global movement of intimate gigs, an active Burning Man participant, a trustee of the children’s charity, Grief Encounter, and a Senior Advisor to Adoreum and Octopus Ventures, where he supports purpose-driven founders who make a positive global impact.
